There are so many people out there that have the same infertility issues that my wife Lisa and I have endured over the past nine years. And we feel for every one of them. Shortly after we were married, in January 2001, Lisa and I started trying to have a family. And for many years, we went unsuccessful. A great big 0’fer God knows how many. We met with fertility doctors who tried for 7 years to get us pregnant. To no avail. One clinic finally just broke down and told us the truth. It just wasn’t going to happen.

So we looked at adoption. And quite frankly, with the way things are set up, it is almost impossible to adopt. The red tape, the legal hassles, the biological parents changing minds, etc. It was too much for us. So we looked into fostering children. Another nightmare.

So then Lisa looked at surrogacy. My sister, Heather, volunteered to carry a child for us, but then some drunken idiot caused a car accident that to this day still affects my sister’s back and her doctors told her it would be unwise for her to carry a child.

Heartbreak after heartbreak.

Then Lisa found India. We got all of the pertinent details and started the proceedings in September 2007 and by November 2007 we were on a plane bound for Mumbai, India.
